Mátra Wine District
In Gyöngyöspata, they decided that Kékfrankos deserved a festival, and then they added Kadarka and old Hungarian varieties such as Tihanyi Kék, Laska, Kék Bajor, Hajnos Kék and Csókaszőlő... and the list goes on and on. These varieties are part of Hungary's wine-growing heritage and can be used to make unique, exciting wines with special aromas.
The aim of the festival is to give guests as many opportunities as possible to taste these wines, presented by guest winemakers from Gyöngyöspata and all corners of the country, on a beautiful May day. (Visiting the event and participating in the outdoor programs is FREE.)
