Did you know that you can look out over the vineyards from Eger Castle, while there is a cellar row just a short walk from the thermal spa in Bogács? And that there is also a vineyard near the beautifully restored aristocratic palace in Edelény, where producers welcome thirsty tourists? And that Szendehely near the Danube Bend not only boasts nature trails but also vineyards producing wine?

Or And did you realise that you could see the Kékes peak from the Mátra winemakers’ tasting rooms? Moreover, the region is a mecca for hiking, as not only the national Blue Trail passes through the Bükk and Mátra, but there are also numerous other marked hiking trails, forest railways and cycle paths, while at the foot of the mountains, there are thermal spas and vineyards, cellars carved into the tuff and beehive stone formations tempting to you to stay longer. The atmosphere of winter skiing in the mountains is just the icing on the cake, as long as the mulled wine is also made from local ingredients!
