Meeting the winemakers provides an excellent opportunity to gain insight into the daily lives of wineries, the process of natural winemaking, the stories and incidents which shine a light on how a winemaker’s life is structured, how do they see their natural surroundings, their terroir, the ecology of grapes and in general the product, that is wine.
Just as in the past two years there is a special emphasis on the philosophy of sulphite free winemaking, in other words: natural wines. VinoPiano’s focus is still on propagating and popularizing natural, ambient yeast fermented, organic wines and of course to delight the senses through these wines.
During the tasting events guests can taste flights of wines which include some rare and special items which may not have been released yet or on the contrary are no longer available on the market.
What makes these events special is the presence of the winemaker whose presentation – taking several hours – is both entertaining and educative. Add to this the special philosophy and perspective of the wine bar, as all the invited winemakers are proponents of sustainable, human scaled, natural winemaking.
