Tokaj Wine Region
The Tokaj-Hegyalja Harvest Days is one of the oldest harvest events in Hungary, celebrated since 1932. The organisers are inviting visitors to the three-day celebration from 4 to 6 October under the motto "White wines, colourful culture".
A harvest parade, premium winemakers, DESH and the Korda couple will entertain guests. In recent years, nearly 10,000 people have visited the town over the three days, and this year's festival is sure to attract many more visitors, as the organisers are providing exciting activities for all ages in the 10th anniversary Tokaj Festival area and throughout the town.
There will be a spectacular Harvest Parade on Saturday 5 October from 14.00 on the usual route, but extended all the way to the Festival Grounds. The grape harvesting ceremony will take place on the main stage of the Katlan, with the harvest of the wine region's mayors being ceremonially gathered.
BORTÉR Tokaj-Hegyalja will offer excellent wines, the gastronomic street will offer delicious cuisine, and the street of craftsmen and craftswomen will offer souvenirs. There will also be street music concerts and street musicians to entertain children and adults alike in a cheerful, vintage atmosphere.
The exhibiting winemakers are Disznókő Tokaj, János Ducsai Winery, Grand Tokaj, Count Dégenfeld Vineyard and Castle Inn****, Kései Pincze, Paulay Wine House, Tibor Family Winery, Szerelmi Winery and other wineries in the Berg Valley.
