1 DAY TOUR

Mór Wine District

1. day tour

Dedicate the morning to exploring the only large town in the area, Székesfehérvár. The coronation church, the main Basilica of the Assumption, which was extended by King Matthias, can today only be found in the Ruin Garden. Nearby, you will find the Globus Cruciger and the City Hall, Hiemer House, which houses the Hetedhét Toy Museum, the Bishop’s Palace, the Black Eagle Pharmacy Museum and the City Gallery, which boasts a permanent exhibition but also organises wonderful temporary exhibitions.

There are plenty of restaurants and cafés in the city centre, so everyone is sure to find something to their liking. When you are tired of walking, you can relax in the Árpád Bath, now a listed building.

You can also escape the city by heading to Öreg Hill and visiting the Bory Castle, the fairytale world dreamed up by Jenő Bory, now a museum. In the afternoon, visit the Capuchin church and convent in Mór, a thirty-minute drive away and then enjoy a wine tasting at a small family winery. End the day with a wine dinner, if possible, so that you can also taste some older vintages of Mór wines.
