In the so-called vineyard of Budapest, Etyek, the festive event offers you not only open cellars, but a variety of culinary experiences besides the unique wine selection of the wine district. The programme brings you contemporary art exhibitions, wardrobe fair, a fashion show by young designers and a number of creative activities.
The long-lasting chain of events called Wine Wandering in Badacsony shows the vivid attributions of the Badacsony Wine District to the visitors. On the 7th the Vörös Vineyards and Cellar, on the 21st the Barna Cellar and on the 28th the Kalinics Estate opens up its doors for guests, which also marks the end of this long sequence of events that has been going on since the November of 2021.
Starting from the heart of Budapest, the Városháza Square, straight to the gates of the winemakers in Budafok, takes you the Budafok Cellars Shuttle Service. The free, 6–8-person transfer bus service operating from the first week of May to December, gives you the opportunity to leave the inner city and your car behind and taste the top of the line sparkling and still wine selection of the winemakers of the Etyek-Buda Wine District.
This three-day event, the largest wine and gastronomic event in Miskolc, held in the unique Avas Hill wine cellar row in the middle of the city, aims to revive traditional Miskolc wine culture. The more than 800 cellars and wine houses, often 300-400 years old, come to life during this time, when visitors can enjoy a variety of music and cultural programmes, the local winemakers’ wines as well as guest winemakers from Hungary’s major wine regions. So, spend the weekend wandering around the atmospheric cellar rows glass and map in hand.
The Zarándok Kaland Wine Tours events consist of the perfect balance of nature and its products – in this particular case: wine. The May edition of the series will take place in the scenic Káptalantóti, in the Badacsony Wine District. This thrilling mixture of wine tasting and hiking will be hosted by the Istvándy Estate and Cellar. This is your perfect opportunity to get to know now not only the wine district, but the winemakers themselves.
Sport and wine come together in the Palkonya Vineyard Run, where you can run through some of the most beautiful vineyards in the Villány Wine District and discover when some of Villány’s most popular wines come while enjoying some fresh air and exercise. As well as running, you can also savour a gastro picnic, fine wines, a lounge atmosphere and other entertainment.
It’s hard to find a single spot in the inner city of Sopron, where history doesn’t peek through the scene. Taking place in this exciting environment is the Sopron Wine Festival. The event pays tribute to the centuries-old traditions of viticulture and winemaking. The all-weekend long event is ticket free. Meet the famous winemakers of the Sopron Wine District in the “Capital of Kékfrankos”.
The slogan of the BorVár event is the smell of the past, the taste of the present and the melody of the future. An informal, relaxed walkaround tasting of wines from the Villány Wine District on the terrace of the Siklós Castle, with breath-taking panoramic views, a sky bar and a DJ playing chill music. You can taste the wines from over ten Villány-Siklós wineries and enjoy some gastronomic experiences.
The Gourmet Festival held in the atmospheric Budapest Millenáris Park is a great chance to try delicious dishes cooked up by some of the country’s top restaurants as well as a wide selection of wines. There is a theme each year, and this year it is ‘heritage’, so expect some world class dishes that will remind you of the recipes your granny wrote in pencil in a dog-eared notebook, the smells of your childhood and the dishes that truly represent a whole country. You have three days and fifty chefs to help you discover this.
