WineCathedra - Three universities launch seminars on wine culture from September

From September, wine culture courses will be available in Hungarian and English at three institutions: Semmelweis University, Óbuda University and Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church. The details of the course, entitled " WineCathedra | Seminar on Wines of Hungary", were announced by dr. Balázs Hankó, State Secretary for Innovation and Higher Education at the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, and Pál Rókusfalvy, Government Commissioner for National Wine Marketing, at this year's EFOTT press conference.

Reaching the young generation effectively is a key objective of the National Wine Marketing Strategy. The Hungarian Wine Marketing Agency's curriculum, which focuses on Hungarian wine culture, will provide young people with knowledge covering the production, marketing, evaluation and consumption of wine. It will help them learn how to consume wine in a conscious, moderate and quality-oriented way. Students will also learn about the characteristics and conditions that are linked to quality and value.

In addition to theoretical knowledge, students will get to know the basics of responsible wine consumption and wine tasting, the fundamentals of wine evaluation, and a wide range of knowledge about Hungary's wine regions, main wine types and food pairings. The curriculum will be taught by renowned experts, international wine academics, top sommeliers and wine writers. Thus, the expertise of the lecturers, combined with the carefully prepared course material, will guarantee the high quality of the seminars worth valuable credit points.
