Best of ORBÁN Wine cellar...’17 Battonage Pinot gris 2011 – (PDO) Quality dry white wine from Badacsony wine region – 0,75l (NEBIH: BMDI)The gently processed grape, harvested on the 6th and 7th October 2011. from the southwest side of Kerekesdomb hill in Balatonrendes, was fermented without sedimentation in steel tanks with neutral alcohol resistant selective yeast. The first racking happened on 3rd November. The fermentation was followed by aging on fine lees firstly for 8 months in wooden barrels, then for 3 months in tanks. A clarification has been made with bentonite (BW200) beside multiple rackings. Filtrations and bottling took place on 28th October 2014.It is a tardy harvested, dry fermented pinot gris, which was fermented in tank, and protractedly aged in barrel on fine lees (for 11 months). It is special, unique and outstanding in its category. It has similar characteristics to dry sherry. It’s a robust, aged, warming wine with the sweet-tart tone of wooden barrel.
