EGLY Winery

500-year-old Bishop’s Palace of Sümeg…Our story has started in 1998 in the more than 500-year-old Bishop’s Palace of Sümeg. A great dream of ours has come true when we drew up with our own wines by 2006, up to this day the winery and also the wines wear the familial name EGLY. We are exceptionally proud of the slope lying on the south-western side of castle hill of Sümeg where beside the main grape varieties – Blaufrankisch, Riesling, Furmint – a 16th century varieties collection has been also placed. The other vineyards are in the Old Hill and in the Baglyas Hill. We are greeting our guests in the cellar of the Bishop’s Palace, which is an enoteca, a tasting cellar, a wine museum and a restaurant at the same time.
