I always dreamed of a small villa where I could spend my retirement years in peace, sitting on the terrace, drinking a glass of wine and gazing at the sunset. Then one sunny day in 2004, my husband invited me to a beautiful villa on Kásás-hill, and said: this is your new house, enjoy it. The less exciting part of the gift was the beautiful vines of Olaszrisling that spread out on the grounds. There were two options: one was to chop them down, but I could never have brought myself to destroy such beauty. The other was to learn to become a winemaker and immerse myself into all things wine. I first enrolled in a sommelier school to understand good wine and what the Kásás-hill terroir can offer. We then renovated the cellar and installed new equipment. We introduced new vines and grape varieties and we have not stopped since. Each of the wines tells a story that I look forward to sharing with each of you.
