Polyák Winery

History of Kunság wine: The Kunság wine region is located on the sandy soil of the Great Plain, the largest wine region in the country. Previously, some of the vineyards were planted here due to the binding of quicksand. The area is 27,903 hectares.Kunszállás was destroyed by the Turkish attacks in the 18th century. It was rebuilt in the 16th century as Majsajakabszállás. Development was slowed by drought, which turned the area into a sand desert. Later, agriculture was boosted with acacia and vineyards. The wines produced here are called everyday wines. In the area of Kunszállás, in the 1960s, the Kunszállási Constitution Agricultural Producer Cooperative bottled wines of its own production, which were produced on an area of hundreds of hectares, on plantations on the outskirts of the settlement. There is no trace of these plantations in the fields today. Mátyás Polyák planted a vineyard on his own property to bring traditional flavors to people's everyday lives.
